iPhone 3G Price in India to be Rs.31,000?

Well that’s what rumours say, or at least that is what Tech2 says is the confirmed price of the Apple iPhone 3G in India.

The 8 GB version of the iPhone 3G will cost Rs. 31,000, while the 16 GB version will cost between Rs. 36,000 and Rs. 37,000.

It would be interesting to see how many would buy the much awaited (and rather highly hyped) Apple iPhone 3G. Would you buy it?

Thanks Aalaap!

    NO. Too overly priced.

Was looking for a price range of Rs. 20k to 24k.

Being the money minded people we Indians are (and there’s surely nothing wrong about it), it wouldn’t come as a surprise that most of us wouldn’t bother buying it at this exorbitant price. Apple – rethink your pricing strategy, or die. Thanks for your opinions Prajeeth and Subbu.

It will be a major flop in INDIA, if they sell it at high price.
We have better features on other phone which will cost less than 15,000.

    bye bye Iphone

iPhone at 31K / 36K ! Not worth it at all. Does the Indian service-providers and Apple-India feel that there are
more than few fools in India to buy it at that price? No way… Will fall on face very soon. Big failure I must say.
Indians dont like to be extorted by anyone. Seriously, this is sheer burglary in broad daylight.
I suggest that they make use of these sets to build their interiors/table/chairs, rather than dumping simply heeeheeee. Horrible business logic… no logic at all. Steve Jobs will be really sad to hear this. Sorry Steve, but didnt expect this from you.
Get me iPhone at the original price+tax, I’ll pick it.No fooling around. The HTC Touch Diamond is a much better option here.

    Hi,

In nutshell, iPhone is bomb. It has:

iPod, internet and obviously phone. No need to explain what iPod is, I really love when it comes along with phone.

Wish to get a new one very soon.

The 16GB version is going to be priced at Rs. 9,452 ($199) and Rs. 14, 202 ($299) for 32GB. It gets better; Apple also announced that they planned on keeping an 8GB version priced at Rs. 4,702 ($99) for a while on the markets

No, the iPhone 8GB version will not be priced at $99 in India. In the U.S. of A, it comes with a contract for two years where you pay a minimum of around USD60 per month. Without the contract it’s always been $799. The price of the iPhone without AT&T’s contract wasn’t announced at WWDC.
